Deathrender
- Mogg Fanatic - Enduring Renewal |
 Infinite
Damage! With all three cards in play and Deathrender attached to the
Fanatic, sacrifice the Fanatic to deal one damage to an opponent (or
creature). Because Enduring Renewal is a replacement effect, it
affects the Mogg Fanatic during the resolution of the trigger from
Deathrender. And thus, you can take that same Fanatic from your hand (that
just got there thanks to Renewal) and put it into play with Deathrender
attached to it. Submitted by Alex
Chaplin & Freezo.
Replace Mogg Fanatic with other creatures that
sacrifice for free with an effect for other types of infinity. |

Skeletal
Changeling - Haakon, Stromgald Scourge - Basal Sliver - Grapeshot |
 Infinite
Damage! Without the Grapeshot, this is in infinite loop combo
capable of super-high storm counts. With the Grapeshot your can deal
infinite damage. How does it work?
With both the Basal Sliver, Skeletal Changeling and Haakon in play, know
that the Skeletal Changeling is all creatures types so it is a Sliver and
a Knight. You can sacrifice the Changeling for BB. Then you
can use Haakon's ability to replay it from your graveyard with that two
mana. Repeat this as many times as you like and then follow up with
a Grapeshot for infinite damage. |
 |
Ceaseless
Searblades - Tidewater Minion - Fling |
 INFINITE
DAMAGE! Note this was partially submitted by Aneximines.
Tidewater Minion can tap to untap himself (itself really) as many times as
you like. Ceaseless Searblades get +1/+0 every time an activated
ability of an elemental is played. And thus, the two cards interact
to net your Searblades infinite power. Add Fling to the mix and
suddenly you can deal infinite damage to a target. Sounds like fun
to me.
Note that if Tidewater Minion isn't your cup of tea you could always add
Unnatural Selection and substitute the Minion for Seeker of Skybreak or
Aphetto Alchemist. As long as the creature can keep tapping itself
to untap itself, you are good to fuel the Searblades. Obviously,
you'll want to make it an elemental with Selection... |

Iridescent
Drake - False Demise - Goblin Bombardment |
 Until
Wizards of the Coast gave the Drake errata, which reads "if you played it
from your hand...", this combo was an excellent way to make your opponent
cringe. The way it worked was that you enchanted the Drake with
Demise and then sacked it to the Goblin Bombardment. Because of the
ability on Demise, the Drake came back into play, and because the ability
on the Drake so did the Demise. You could repeat this combo until
you were blue in the face, or until you opponent died from Bombardment
damage. Too bad the combo no longer works.
UPDATE: 7/15/07 - The previously added
errata was removed. The combo works again! |
 |
Jedit
Ojanen of Efrava - Breath of Fury - Yavimaya Dryad - Mass Hysteria |
 This
is a tricky combo that started off as just a Jedit - Yavimaya card
interaction submitted by Niv-Mizzet_Rulez! Then uber_panda suggested
adding Breath of Fury for infinite damage. Then YWN quickly advised
you needed to give the tokens haste for the combo to work. Phew.
In the end, here's what happens: Have Jedit, a 2/2 green
Cat Warrior token and Mass Hysteria in play. Note: Yavimaya is the card
that enables all of your cats to be unblockable since she gives your
opponent a forest. Otherwise, she doesn't matter to the sequence of
this combo. The token needs to be enchanted with Breath of Fury.
Attack with Jedit and token. Jedit generates another token.
Jedit and the original token are unblockable and thus they deal damage.
Sacrifice Breath of Fury and attach it to the new token. Untap
Jedit. Now attack with the new token, which has haste thanks to Mass
Hysteria and Jedit. Repeat to inflict potentially infinite damage. |
 |
Enduring
Renewal - Grapeshot - Wild Cantor |
 Wizard's
said themselves they were worried about Timeshifting Enduring Renewal for
the same reason Enduring Renewal was dangerous back in the day: infinite
combos. This time around those pieces are different: Grapeshot and
Wild Cantor. For those who didn't know, the old pieces were Goblin
Bombardment and 0cc artifacts (like Phyrexian Walker).
How it works: With Enduring Ideal in play, Wild
Cantor in play and Grapeshot in hand, Sacrifice Wild Cantor to add a red
or green mana to your mana pool. Enduring Renewal will return Wild
Cantor to your hand. Use the mana you generator from the Cantor
previously to cast it again. Repeat this infinite times. Then
cast Grapeshot to infinite damage.

Fool's
Demise - Composite Golem - Pandemonium |
 This
combo was submitted by Edrex with some help from YWN. This combo is
also infinite damage (or capable of infinite storm...) by doing the
following. With Golem and Pandemonium in play, enchant Golem with
Fool's Demise. Sacrifice the Golem to add WUBRG to your mana pool.
Fool's Demise will return the Golem to play and Demise back to your hand.
Pandemonium triggers for four damage to any target. Use the mana you
received from the Golem to play Fool's Demise on the Golem again and
repeat for infinite storm or infinite damage. Thanks for the combo
Edrex! |

Ophidian
Eye - Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind |
 Remember
that little infinite damage/drawing cards combo with Niv-Mizzet and
Curiosity? Well, it's back... only this time it's legal in Standard
thanks to Ophidian Eye. Ophidian Eye and Curiosity are the same card
except Ophidian costs 2 more mana and has Flash. How does this work?
Enchant Niv-Mizzet with Ophidian Eye. Tap Niv-Mizzet to draw a card
and deal one damage to your opponent. Ophidian Eye lets you draw a card
which deals another damage to an opponent, and so on and so on for
infinite damage and infinite card drawings (as infinite as card drawing
can be based on the size of the your decklist). |
 |
Desperate
Ritual - Lava Spike - Izzet Guildmage |
 I
can't believe WotC printed an infinite combo as easy as this in Standard.
How does it work? Simple. Play Lava Spike. Splice Desperate Ritual onto it
for 1R (adding 3 mana to your mana pool). Now, activate Izzet Guildmage's
ability with the three mana that Desperate Ritual produced to copy Lava
Spike with Desperate Ritual Spiced onto it. Keep using the 3 mana from
Desperate Ritual to use the Guildmage... and you've done infinite damage
to your opponent's head. Good deal. There are already many decks in the
works to exploit this threesome of cards. |
 |
Tidespout
Tyrant - Pandemonium - Emerald Medallion - Quirion Sentinel |
 Infinite
damage - how does it work? With Tyrant, Pandemonium, one Sentinel
and Medallion in play and one Sentinel in hand, cast the Sentinel.
Note it will only cost you one mana thanks to the Medallion. When he
comes into play return
the other Sentinel to your hand (because of the Tyrant) and add one green mana to your mana pool.
Play that Sentinel and repeat for infinite damage
thanks to Pandemonium. Each time the Sentinel comes into play, it
deals 2 damage to a target. Repeated Cavern Harpy style a billion
times equals a billion times two damage (the Sentinel is 2/1). |
 |
Curiosity
- Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind |
 I
had to post this in fear of getting 3000 emails about the same combo.
Many people have already submitted it via email and in the forum.
OK. This is simple. Enchant Niv-Mizzet with Curiosity.
Now, tap Niv-Mizzet to draw a card. Niv-Mizzet deals 1 damage to
target creature or player (preferably an opponent). Curiosity activates
again, drawing you a card and thus dealing another point of damage -
dealing up to infinite damage to an opponent. Well, infinite in
terms of as many cards are in your library infinite. Thanks to
everyone that submitted it.Also note that
there are many cards that work well with Niv-Mizzet. Some cards that
come quickly to mind include Invoke the Firemind, Greater Good and
Mindmoil. Have fun! (Necrologia
is also an interesting idea thanks to retarded_a_i in the forums.) |
 |
Corpse
Dance - Composite Golem - Tendrils of Agony or Brain Freeze |
 This
infinite damage or milling combo was submitted by Horst Bünger. Here's
how it works. With Composite Golem in play, sacrifice it to add
WUGRB to your mana pool. After that, cast Corpse Dance with a kicker
(4B total) and reanimate the golem. Now you have Corpse Dance in
hand and the Golem on the table. Back right where you started...
Repeat this infinite times. You won't net any
infinite mana, but with a Tendrils of Agony you can deal infinite damage
and gain infinite life (thanks to storm). Or, with Brain Freeze, you
can mill infinite cards from your opponent's library (also thanks to
storm).
Note: Memory Crystals will turn this into an infinite
mana combo. |
 |
Kiki-Jiki,
Mirror Breaker - Breath of Fury |
 Breath
of Fury is an interesting variation of Relentless Assault (which I believe
was the first card of its kind to grant additional combat phases in the
same turn). Anyway, the key to winning with the Aura is having
Kiki-Jiki and another creature with haste in play. Here's how it
works. Tap Kiki-Jiki and copy your haste creature (making a token
creature). Next turn, do the same thing. Attach the Breath of
Fury to one of your token creatures and attack, making sure the creature
with the aura on it can't be blocked. If it is blocked and doesn't
have trample, you won't get infinite attack phases.
Anyway, if you do deal damage to a player with your attack, sacrifice the
token and put it on the other token creature. Untap all of your
creatures, including Kiki-Jiki, and repeat. You will keep attacking
as many times as it is necessary to kill your opponent (or opponents).
Have fun with this one! |
 |
Coalhauler
Swine - Pariah's Shield - Blessing of Leeches |
 Infinite
damage loop! YEAH! ... Enchant the Swine with Blessing of Leeches
and attack the shield to it as well. Now, either tap a pain land or
Shock your swine (or let your opponent deal damage to you). What
happens? The damage that would be dealt to you is now dealt to the
Swine who in turn deals that much damage to each player. However,
that damage is not dealt to you because of the shield - it's dealt to the
swine - repeating the chaos loop of crazy damage. Blessing of
leeches allows you to regenerate the Swine as many times as it is
necessary to kill your opponent. If you need to end the loop just
un-attach the shield. Fun stuff - and I even have a deck list from
JSweeney for you! |

Pandemonium - Sekki, Seasons' Guide |

This infinite combo was submitted by Matt J. (which
replaced the combo referenced below in yellow. To quote his
description: "Play Pandemonium. Play Sekki. Sekki deals 8 damage to
itself. Sekki removes the counters, putting 8 1/1 Spirits into play. Each
of these Spirits deals 1 damage to your opponent. Sacrifice these Spirits,
returning Sekki to play. Sekki deals 8 damage to itself..."
Note: The original combo with
Blasting Station and Sekki do not work. EinsteinMonkey and I forgot
about the 'sacrifice a creature' part of the activation cost to tap the
blasting station. Thanks to anonymous and another guy from Germany
for pointing this out in an email to me. |
 |
Ow
- Censorship (set to "ow") - Opalescence |
 Quoted
from Mark Gottlieb's article found
here.
How does this work? The combo is out on the table. I damage you with a
creature. Ow triggers. If you say “ow,” Censorship will trigger and deal 2
damage to you—and since Censorship is a creature thanks to Opalescence, Ow
will trigger again. Go back to the top of the loop! If, on the other hand,
you don't say “ow” when you're damaged, Ow itself will deal 1 damage to
you—and since Ow is a creature thanks to Opalescence, Ow will trigger
again. Go back to the top of the loop! |
 |
Sword
of the Chosen - Yomiji, Who Bars the Way - Krark-Clan Ironworks - Fling |
Oooh.
The first infinity combo on the page. No longer is Sword of the
Chosen a 'super bad' rare. Simply put, tap the Sword to give Yomiji
+2/+2 until end of turn. Then, sacrifice the Sword to the Ironworks
for 2 mana. Return the Sword to your hand because of Yomiji
and then cast it again with the mana you have in your mana pool.
Repeat for an infinitely big Yomiji and then fling it for infinite damage.
You can sub fling for many other cards to get a different infinite
something effect. |
 |
Kiki-Jiki,
Mirror Breaker - Intruder Alarm - (Mogg Fanatic) |
What's
with the infinite combo possibilities in CHK so far? Anyway, I
imagine combine Intruder alarm with 50% of the new LEgends in CHK to get
infinite something. With this version, say you have any creature
in play, namely Mogg Fanatic, and then you cast Kiki-Jiki (what a
name!). Tap it, since it has haste, to creature of copy of your
Mogg Fanatic. Then untap all creatures. When you have
infinite minus one (or 20) Mogg Fanatics, sacrifice them all to do
infinite minus one (or 20) damage. Not bad. Obviously, there
are a variety of infinite type combos you could do depending on the
creature. |

Myr
Retriever - Ashnod's Altar - Disciple of the Vault / Scrapheap
submitted by
Kaervek |
  INFINITY
COMBO: Up to infinite life (Scrapheap) or damage (Disciple of the
Vault). You need two Myr Retrievers to do this. Sac the Myr Retriever
to the Altar for 2 colorless mana. When the first Myr goes to the
graveyard, assuming you have another in your graveyard, return the other
Myr to your hand. Repeat this. While you can't get infinite
mana without a Helm of Awakening, you can get infinite life with the
Scrapheap since the Myrs will keep hitting the graveyard. Or, you
can choose your opponent to lose up to infinite life with the Disciple
of the Vault. I see the Disciple being abused in this block, and
its only a common! Thanks Kaervek for the awesome combo. You can
click on the Infinite Deck button to go to the infinite decks but right
now there isn't a deck for this one. It's kind of tough to pull
off. If you want a little control in your deck with this, add Lumengrid
Sentinel and Opposition your opponent. |
 |
Salvaging,
Summoning, Grinding and Blasting Stations |
 Quoted
from CharlesC. You need all four stations and a 1 casting cost
artifact. Any cog will do. 1. Use the grinding station to sac the 1
casting cost artifact to mill for 3. 2. The artifact going into the
graveyard from the grinding station untaps the summoning station. Tap it
to put a 2/2 creature into play. 3. The creature coming into play from
the summoning station untaps the blasting station. Tap it and sacrifice
the creature to do a point of damage. 4. The creature going to the
graveyard from the blasting station untaps the salvage station. Tap it
to put the 1 casting cost artifact into play. 5. The artifact coming
into play from the salvage station untaps the grinding station. Go to
step one. You may do any number of damage and mill any
number (X3) cards with all the stations in play at once.
Thanks Charles. Well summarized. |
 |
Rite
of Passage (2) - Triskelion |
With
this combo, you can deal infinite damage and/or get an infinite/infinite
creature... technically not since it has to be a real number.. let's say
a 567,419/567,419 creature. Anyway, with both Rite of Passages in
play, remove a +1/+1 counter from the Triskelly and deal the damage to
itself. Then, because of the RoP's, put two +1/+1 counters on him
netting you one +1/+1 counter. Since this activation doesn't
involve any mana you can just keep doing it over and over. |
 |
Krark-Clan
Ironworks - Nuisance Engine - Disciple of the Vault - Dross
Scorpion |
Submitted
by Erik Peterson. How it works. With all four cards in play
tap the Nuisance Engine and pay two to put a 0/1 Pest token into
play. Sacrifice it to the Ironworks and add two to your
manapool. At the same time your Disciple and Scorpion activate so
make your opponent lose 1 life and untap the Engine. You are back
at the beginning again so repeat. With the cards here you can't
reach infinite mana but you can deal infinite damage to your opponent
with the Disciple combo catalyst. |
 |
Aluren
- Pandemonium - Horned Kavu |
With
Pandemonium and Aluren in play, cast your Horned Kavu for free.
Assuming you have another Horned Kavu in play, send the first Kavu back
to your hand and then cast him. Each one sends the other back to
your hand for you to cast again for free with Aluren. All the
while, your Pandemonium activates and deals damage to your opponent's
side of the board. Nice.
Also, know there are cheaper
alternatives to Pandemonium: Brain Freeze and Furious Assault. Also,
there are many alternatives to Horned Kavu: Man-o'-War, Cavern Harpy,
Fleetfoot Panther, Lava Zombie, Shrieking Drake, and Silver Drake.
Thanks to Anemimines for adding some additional information to this
concept.

Scythe
of the Wretched - Carrion Feeder - Triskelion |
 This
combo was originally inspired by www.magicthegathering.com's
Randy Buehler. Scythe of the Wretched was designed (at first) to
give a creature +2/+1. But this caused an almost "infinite" loop
where you could kill your opponent in one turn if you got Wretch and
Triskelion in play. To learn more, click here.
They made the Scythe +2/+2 to prevent this. You can still do it
with the Carrion Feeder, though (or any other card that sacs a
creature). Enchant the Triskelion with the Scythe and deal one
point of damage to the Skelion and 2 points to your opponent.
Sacrifice the Skelion to the Carrion Feeder and then it comes back into
play with a fresh set of three +1/+1 counters to use. Repeat until
you win. Not bad. Thanks, Michael, for the combo!

Mind
Over Matter - Kamahl, Pit Fighter - Curiosity |
 Ok.
So Mind Over matter is banned.. who cares. This is still a fun
combo that works with a variety of cards like Kamahl, Timmy, Thornwind
Faeries, and so on. Enchant your pinging creature with the
Curiosity and tap it to deal damage. Draw a card through curiosity
and then discard a card to untap it. Deal damage until your blue
in the face or until you run out of cards or until your opponent(s) are
dead. Throw a Thran Foundry into the mix and you are sure to win
any group game.. assuming you opponent(s) cannot target your Pit Fighter
or Wizard or Faerie to destroy it. Fun.
Note: the deck to
the left uses the concept of this combo. This combo was submitted
by Steve V.

Prosperity
- Cadaverous Bloom - Drain Life |
 How
it works: After a period of initial posturing and mana development
thanks to a different "engine"--Squandered Resources and
Natural Balance--you put Cadaverous Bloom into play and then play a
large Prosperity. From this point, the deck plays like a cross between
Academy and Bargain. You discard unnecessary cards to the Bloom to
generate mana, and use that mana to cat another, bigger, Prosperity. The
second Prosperity usually gives you enough cards to win with, although a
third is sometimes necessary. This combo was found on and
quoted from www.magicthegathering.com. |
